Dataminer discovers references to notes feature in Steam
Valve seems to be working on an annotation functionality for certain games. These would be available in the Library and on the web, according to a data miner. For example, the notes can be used for puzzles.
Pavel Djundik reports this, Valve software data miner and SteamDB frontman. He shows two screenshots of program code with references to the annotation system. He doesn’t say where he found it, but presumably the lyrics are in a beta version of the Steam application.
There is no release date for the feature. The presence of such code in a publicly available client only means that it is being worked on. It is also possible that the function will still be deleted and will not be available at all.
Steam recently added the feature to transfer game data locally from one device to another, so a game doesn’t have to be downloaded twice. Big Picture Mode also features the look and feel of SteamOS, and shopping hubs and a new mobile app with faster 2fa arrived last year.
