D-Link makes smart power strips available in the Benelux
D-Link makes two smart power strips available in the Benelux. The DSP-W115 has a single outlet and the DSP-W245 has four. The sockets can be operated via speakers with Alexa, Google Assistant and IFTTT.
Both the DSP-W115 Smart Plug and the DSP-W245 Power Strip work in conjunction with the D-Links mydlink app, which provides the user with insight into the power consumption. With the DSP-W245, the real-time reports can be requested separately for each of the four sockets and the management, such as switch-on and switch-off times, can be set.
In addition, the products offer protection against overheating and overvoltage; the app can also provide a push notification in those cases. If you have a speaker with Amazon’s Alexa or Google Assistant, you can control the sockets with voice control and there is also integration of IFTTT. The power strips can connect via wifi-n with wps and contain a single antenna.
With on and off buttons, the sockets can also be physically switched on and off and LEDs indicate the status. The suggested retail price of the DSP-W115 Smart Plug is 39.95 euros, the DSP-W245 Power Strip is 124.95 euros.
