Czech developer makes transparent version of Arduino Uno

A Czech developer has made a transparent version of the Arduino Uno. He has connected the various components that are normally on the pcb with wires. He calls the project Freeduino.

Developer Jiri Praus created the clear version of an Arduino Uno to show what clear electronics look like. He has explained the process step by step on Instructables. To replace the entire PCB with wires, he divided the Arduino into four parts: the ATmega328 mcu and associated parts, the power supply and associated circuit, the USB hardware and the LEDs.

Praus did replace a few parts. The ATmega8U2-MU is not suitable for use without a pcb, so he went for a SparkFun CH340. He exchanged the LEDs for smd1206 LEDs, which are smaller. To make the whole a little more sturdy, he has placed a plateau of transparent casting resin underneath.
