The Ascent, a game described by its creators as an action shooter RPG, will be released on July 29 for Xbox consoles and on Steam. The Xbox version is also part of Game Pass. The game has a cyberpunk theme and can be played co-op or solo.

The Ascent is set on Veles, a cyberpunk world run by The Ascent Group. That’s a mega company that owns almost everything. Players take on the role of an employee when the company suddenly stops its activities for unknown reasons.

The game is an action shooter RPG that can be played alone or in co-op with up to three others. This works both online and locally. RPG elements come in the form of skill points and augmentations.

The Ascent is the first game from Neon Giant, a Swedish indie studio with 12 employees. According to publisher Curve Digital, the studio employs several veterans who have worked on games in the Gears of Wars, BUlletstorm and Wolfenstein franchises, among others.

The game will be released on Steam and for current and previous generation Xbox consoles. On the Xbox Series X, the game runs in 4k resolution with a frame rate of 60fps. The game has a suggested retail price of 30 euros, but is also included in the Game Pass subscription.
