Cyberpunk 2077 patch contains new bug that prevents mission from starting
Cyberpunk 2077 players are reporting that patch 1.1 introduces a new bug that prevents a certain mission from starting. CD Projekt RED says it is investigating the problem and offers tips for a work-around. An older savegame is required for this.
In version 1.1 of Cyberpunk 2077, players are having trouble with the Down on the Street mission. That mission is supposed to start with a holocall from Takemura, but several players report that the character does appear on the screen, but nothing happens. There is an example of this on Reddit.
The error will prevent the mission from starting and players will not be able to continue with the storyline. CD Projekt RED reports on a support page that the problem is being investigated and offers a possible solution. That work-around only works if players have a previous savegame available, so players may lose progression if they have to go further back.
Furthermore, CD Projekt is working on RED a hot fix which should resolve the error. When it will be released is not yet known. The Polish developer released patch 1.1 for Cyberpunk 2077 at the end of last week. That is the first of two major patches, which should fix many problems. Earlier, the developer already released several smaller updates. Patch 1.2 should be released in the coming weeks.
