CD Projekt RED shows a list of changes coming to Cyberpunk 2077 via patch 1.2. The list lists over 500 tweaks to improve performance and fix bugs. The patch also enables ray tracing with AMD GPUs.

Developer CD Projekt RED has divided the extensive patch notes into categories such as gameplay, quests, open world, environment and levels, graphics and stability and performance. There are dozens of changes per category. Patch 1.2 is not yet available, but according to previous promises should be released this month. The developer says the update is coming “soon” for all platforms.

Support for ray tracing with AMD video cards will be added for PC gamers. Until now, that only worked with Nvidia RTX cards. The developer has also made numerous adjustments to the engine, which makes the game more stable and performs better. This should be especially noticeable on the previous generation consoles and on PCs with older hardware. CD Projekt RED states that there are fewer random crashes after the update. This is partly due to memory optimizations.

The gameplay improvements include adjustments to the controls of cars. A new steering sensitivity slider should offer a solution for players who use their keyboard. Also, the police will no longer just appear ‘out of the blue’ behind players; increased the radius in which the Night City Police Department spawns. CD Projekt RED previously provided information about this.

The list describes many specific adjustments that should solve problems with quests and cutscenes. Changes have also been made to improve ‘immersion in the open game world’, but they are not specifically mentioned. CD Projekt RED refers to improvements and solutions in meetings and performances in the open world.

Patch 1.2 is the biggest update to Cyberpunk 2077 to date. In January, CD Projekt RED released its first major update, version 1.1, which included bug fixes and stability improvements. The new patch should bring more significant improvements to the game that was released on December 10 last year. The game was criticized at the time for its many bugs and poor performance on previous generation consoles.
