Cyberpunk 2077 development team consists of more than four hundred people
According to developer CD Projekt Red, more than four hundred people are working on Cyberpunk 2077. This makes the team working on the game 60 percent larger than the team that made The Witcher 3.
The size of the team is apparent from a statement the developer gave to Stockwatch. CD Projekt Red gave the Polish website an answer on whether the departure of creative director Sebastian St heeftpień will affect the development of the game. According to the developer, that is not the case and more than four hundred people are working on the game.
Earlier this month it appeared that Stępień has made the switch to Blizzard Entertainment. This was noticed by a user of the Resetera forum. The creative director has been responsible for the story and setting in which Cyberpunk 2077 takes place since 2016. Presumably, his work on the game was finished at the time of his departure.
The team working on Cyberpunk 2077 has expanded considerably in recent years. Last year, the developer opened a third studio in Poland to support the development of the game. CD Projekt Red also entered into a partnership with Canadian Digital Scapes. Two hundred and fifty people worked on the development of The Witcher 3 at its peak.
When Cyberpunk 2077 will be released is not yet known. CD Projekt Red showed the first gameplay footage of the game announced in 2012 in August last year. The game is supposed to be a cross between an FPS and an RPG and will be released for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
