Crunchyroll adds mobile games to subscription
Crunchyroll expands the Mega Fan subscription with games. Subscribers get access to five smartphone games, although this number should increase in the future. The games can only be played on Android for the time being and do not contain advertisements or in-app purchases.
The game range is called Crunchyroll Game Vault and contains anime and ‘anime-inspired’ games. Subscribers can immediately play action games Captain Velvet Meteor: The Jump+ Dimensions and River City Girls, RPG Wolfstride, visual novel Behind the Frame: The Finest Scenery and cat puzzle game inbento. To download the games, subscribers must select games in the Crunchyroll Game Vault section of the Crunchyroll app, which will send them to their smartphone app store.
The Game Vault is immediately available on Android and will come to iOS ‘very soon’. The games are available in more than two hundred countries. Only the Mega Fan subscription of ten euros per month or one hundred euros per year includes the Game Vault, the Fan subscription of seven euros per month does not. Crunchyroll is an anime streaming service that is part of Sony.
