Crucial T700 PCIe 5.0 SSD reaches speeds of 12GB/s; is available from May
Linus Tech Tips put Crucial’s upcoming T700 PCIe 5.0 SSD through some testing. A test with CrystalDiskMark shows that the SSD achieves sequential read and write speeds of 12.4GB/s and 11.9GB/s respectively. The T700 will be available from May.
Host Linus Sebastian reports that the T700 PCIe 5.0 SSD has a Phison PS5026-E26 controller. This controller has an eight-channel design, is also used in other recent PCIe 5.0 SSDs and has a maximum throughput of 15.8GB/s, which is twice the speeds achieved by SSDs with a PCIe 4.0 x4 controller.
The NVMe drive uses Micron 3D nand memory with 232 layers announced in 2022. It is not yet clear how much the PCIe 5.0 SSD will cost. Crucial has through Twitter announced that the SSD will be for sale from May.
