Crucial releases three SSDs in the new BX200 line. These are models with 240GB, 480GB and 960GB storage capacity. The manufacturer’s 2.5″ drives are built around Micron’s 16nm TLC memory.

The BX200 series should follow the BX100 line and, among other things, 16nm produced tlc instead of mlc-nand memory is used. The controller is the Silicon Motion SM2256, a controller with support for TLC memory that was announced midway through this year.

The CT240BX200SSD1, CT480BX200SSD1 and CT960BX200SSD1 with 240GB, 480GB and 960GB respectively offer read and write speeds of 540 and 490MB/s respectively. The ‘4k random read’ and ‘4k random write’ speeds are 66,000 and 78,000 iops respectively.

According to the manufacturer, the drives have to compete with the SanDisk SSD Plus, SanDisk Ultra II and the Kingston V300 SSDs. In Europe, Crucial uses suggested retail prices of 92.39, 161.99 and 325.19 euros for the 240GB, 480GB and 960GB SSDs.
