Crowdfunding campaign for PC version Rock Band 4 does not reach target
Rock Band 4 probably won’t be coming to PC. The crowdfunding campaign set up by developer Harmonix to make that happen has not achieved its goal. On Fig, just under $800,000 was pledged to the project that required $1.5 million.
Whether the PC version of Rock Band 4 is completely off the track now that the crowdfunding campaign has not reached its goal is not yet known. Just before the deadline, Harmonix posted an update in which the developer indicates that it will provide more information after the campaign has ended. That update will probably follow in the course of Wednesday.
Harmonix planned to pay $500,000 itself and tried to raise the remaining $1.5 million it thought it needed through Fig. On that platform, interested parties can not only pledge money, but also invest. If the project is successful, investors will earn their money back.
Harmonix raised $792,817 with the campaign. About 53 percent of the intended amount. Because the target has not been achieved, no money is written off from the investors who had pledged support to the project.
Rock Band 4 was released in 2015 on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Harmonix is also working on other projects, such as Rock Band VR for the Oculus Rift. The plan was that the studio Sumo Digital would transfer the console version of Rock Band 4 to the PC.
