Crossplay in Destiny 2 is on early but will be disabled again
Destiny 2 players will note that crossplay is enabled, so they can play together with gamers on other platforms. That feature is in the works, but not ready yet, Bungie says. Crossplay is turned off again.
‘Some players have had a sneak peek for crossplay’, writes Bungies community manager on Twitter. “It’s not supposed to be live and not representative of the full experience,” he continues.
Bungie is going to disable public access to crossplay again later this week, but until then players can take advantage of it. That does not yet work without problems, players note. That is the reason that the function is not officially available yet.
At the end of last year, Bungie announced that Destiny 2 will get crossplay between all platforms in 2021, but when is not known. The game is available on PC and Stadia, PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One and Series X and S. It was already possible to transfer accounts and save games between the different platforms. Destiny 2 is also free to play since last year.
