Creators of VR game Farpoint show new VR multiplayer shooter Larcenauts

Impulse Gear, the studio that created PlayStation VR game Farpoint, is releasing a new VR game for Oculus platforms and Steam VR this summer. Larcenauts is a fast-paced 6v6 multiplayer shooter where players can choose from eight different roles.

Larcenouts has game modes like Team Deathmatch, Refuel, in which teams have to defend ground, and Dronehack, which is similar to capture the flag. There are four game environments in which the battles take place.

Players choose a role as one of eight Specialists, each of which has its own Quick Skill and Deployed Item. Players can customize the armor and appearance of the chosen character. The available roles are Hunter, Infiltrator, Medic, Grenadier, Guardian, Engineer, Brawler, and Commando.

Larcenauts will be released this summer for the Oculus Quest and Rift and on Steam VR. There is no mention of a version for Sony’s PSVR headset. Developer Impulse Gear is known for Farpoint, a single player shooter that was released exclusively for the PSVR.
