Corsair releases RMx Shift power supplies with ATX 3.0 support
Corsair has released four new ATX 3.0 power supplies in the RMx Shift series. They have connections on the side. The power supplies have powers of between 750 and 1200W and have an 80 Plus Gold certification.
The new RMx Shift series consists of four power supplies of 750, 850, 1000 and 1200W. They have support for Intel’s ATX 3.0 standard. That means they have an integrated PCIe 5.0 12Vhpwr connection, which can power RTX 40 cards. Such cards can also handle peak currents of up to three times normal consumption during short peaks.
The power supplies have a 140mm fan with fluid dynamic bearing, which does not spin when the system is idle. The power supply is also certified 80 Plus Gold for a maximum efficiency of 90 percent, says Corsair.
A striking feature of the modular power supply is that the connectors are located on the side of the motherboard tray, making it easier for users to attach the cables, even if the power supply is already installed in the housing. The power supplies are therefore only compatible with housings that are at least 210mm wide. Corsair ships the device with a PCIe 5.0 12Vhpwr cable, in addition to several common 6+2-pin connectors for video cards that don’t have a 12Vhpwr connector. The RMx Shift PSUs are available immediately, Corsair reports.
