Corsair partially acquires capture hardware manufacturer Elgato
Corsair acquires Elgato’s business that makes capture hardware for gamers. The products will appear as a separate brand within Corsair’s offer. Elgato Eve, which makes smart home equipment, will continue under the name Eve Systems.
Corsair announces acquisition of Elgato Gaming without disclosing financial details. Germany’s Elgato Gaming will continue to exist as a brand after the acquisition is completed, but will be part of Corsair’s portfolio. Elgato is known for its capture cards and accessories for gamers and streamers.
In addition to products for gamers, Elgato also makes smart home equipment such as sensors, lamps and smoke detectors with its Eve line. Corsair is not taking over that part of the company. It will continue independently as Eve Systems.
The American Corsair is known for its housings, PC accessories and peripherals. Last year, the brand released its first complete system. The manufacturer seems to want to expand its product range further: at the end of April a vacancy appeared that indicated the arrival of monitors from Corsair.
