Corsair Introduces PCIe 4.0 Waterblock SSD With Speeds Up To 7000MB/s

Corsair introduces its MP600 Pro Hydro X. This SSD has a PCIe 4.0 interface and comes with a water block. The manufacturer also comes with a regular MP600 Pro without water block and an MP600 Core SSD with qlc-nand. The M.2 water block is also available separately.

The MP600 Pro uses tlc-nand and is available with 1TB or 2TB of storage capacity. The 2TB variant gets sequential read and write speeds of 7000MB/s and 6550MB/s respectively, with random speeds of 800,000 and 660,000 iops. The speeds of the 1TB model are lower. The 2TB drive has a total bytes written of 1400TB. That’s lower than the current MP600, which has a stamina of up to 3600 written terabytes.

The Hydro X variant has identical specs but comes with an XM2 waterblock. By water cooling the SSD, the drive should in theory suffer less from throttling due to the lower temperatures. Corsair shares its own temperature readings from the Hydro X variant against the regular MP600 Pro, which comes with a passive heatsink. Independent benchmarks and measurements are not yet available.

The MP600 Pro 2TB costs 450 euros, while the 1TB variant has a suggested retail price of 230 euros. The Hydro X variant is only available with a capacity of 2TB and has a suggested retail price of 470 euros. The water block is also available separately for 39.90 euros.

The MP600 Core is a lower-end PCIe 4.0 SSD, which comes with 4TB, 2TB or 1TB of storage. These drives use qlc-nand and achieve sequential read and write speeds of up to 4950MB/s and 3950MB/s, depending on the model. The 4TB variant achieves arbitrary speeds of up to 630,000 and 580,000 iops with a endurance of 900 terabytes written. The 4TB model will have a suggested retail price of 655 euros, the MP600 Core 2TB will cost 320 euros and the 1TB variant costs 160 euros.
