Corsair Announces TX V2 Series Power Supplies
The American hardware manufacturer Corsair has updated its series of power supplies in the TX line. The new power supplies, with the suffix V2, may now carry the 80Plus Bronze certificate and are available immediately.
The Enthusiast Series TX power supplies are intended as stable power supplies for gamers and other intensive computer users. The previous original series only carried the 80Plus certificate, but the revised version, recognizable by the suffix V2, achieves yields that entitle it to the 80Plus Bronze certification. According to Corsair, the noise development would also have been taken care of and the dc-dc converter was also renewed. Ripple and noise would also be lower. Like the original series, the V2 series is not modular.
The Enthusiast Series TX V2 power supplies are available in three versions: the TX650 V2, TX750 V2 and TX850 V2, with 650, 750 and 850 watts of power respectively. In addition to the usual motherboard and CPU connectors, the TX650 V2 has two PCI Express connectors, eight SATA and eight Molex connectors. The 750W version doubles the number of PCI Express plugs to four, the same as the TX850 V2. The amount of sata and molex plugs remains the same for all power supplies. The 650W version should cost $99, the TX750 V2 $119 and the heaviest model, the TX850 V2, costs $139.
