Corsair has acquired the American company Origin PC. Origin PC makes desktops and laptops that are primarily aimed at gamers. The brand name will remain and Corsair will also continue to build PCs under its own name.

As a result of the acquisition, Corsair will deploy its iCue software for RGB lighting effects on Origin PC systems. Origin will also use Corsair’s Hydro X water cooling in some systems. Further collaboration and integration will be announced later, Corsair said. The acquisition amount has not been disclosed.

Corsair is mainly known for components, but in recent years also started selling complete PCs such as the Corsair One. Corsair PCs will continue to appear after the acquisition. The gaming PCs Corsair makes itself are relatively compact with custom cases, while Origin PC builds more traditional gaming PCs in large cases.

Origin PC delivers its products in the United States and is also known for its extreme projects. For example, the company recently presented the Big O: a gaming PC that also includes an Xbox One X, PlayStation 4 Pro and a Nintendo Switch dock. Both the PC, Xbox and PlayStation are water-cooled in that system.
