Cooler Master shows new air and water coolers including LCDs
Cooler Master showed several new air and water coolers for CPUs during the Computex. This includes a number of new MasterLiquid pumps and a premium model of the Mobius series with thicker blades and better PWM management.
Cooler Master shows, among other things, the X-Core in the MasterLiquid series. That is an AIO water cooler that has a modular structure. The top of the pump can be replaced by, for example, a module with an LCD or an extra voltage regulator module. Cooler Master is showing the AIO cooler, which has three fans, at the Computex trade show and is also showing off some of those modules, such as a mirrored top or one with multiple LEDs on it that can be programmed. It is not known exactly which modules will be released or with which external components they are compatible, but Cooler Master certainly mentions VRM cooling in addition to the LCDs.
Another cooler in the MasterLiquid series is the Harmony, another top model featuring what Cooler Master calls the 'eleventh generation pump'. Specifications about that pump are missing, but there are at least two vertical RGB strips on the pump. There are also two 40mm VRM fans on the cooler. These are 5mm thick and can be controlled in such a way that the airflow can change.
The company also showed off a prototype of a cooler it calls the Mirage II. It has a pump with the top open so that the flowing water can be clearly seen. Cooler Master also shows off a newer design for the 360 Ion, but that product in the premium category of water coolers isn't entirely new. Cooler Master showed the Master Liquid 360 Ion already during the CES fair, but says that it now has a more definitive design of the cooler.
Mobius
Cooler Master continues with a better version of the Mobius fan. The Mobius 120 XT has thicker fan blades and a three-phase drive that the company says can be controlled more precisely via pulse width modulation. The fans also have a magnetic connection so they only need to be connected to a connecting fan with a single cable, instead of users having to run a separate connection to their motherboard.
The company is also showing a new SickleFlow Edge 360 RGB. That is a frame for two or three 120mm fans, where only four screws are needed in the corners to attach the frame to the housing instead of the normal twelve screws. There is also a more expensive version available, the Mobius 360, which is made of aluminum and is sturdier. Although Cooler Master says that the SickleFlow is the cheaper variant, the company does not yet mention prices.
Ventus air cooler
In addition to water coolers, Cooler Master will also be showing a new air cooler at the fair, the 612 Ventus. It has two 120mm Mobius fans and the cooler can be adjusted in height to 45mm so that there is more space for higher memory modules. Furthermore, the cooler is easier to install because no clips are required, but the fans can be slid directly into the device from above.
