Control and Hitman 3 are coming to Nintendo Switch as cloud streaming games
The games Control and Hitman 3 will be available for Nintendo Switch owners. The titles are streamed from the cloud, requiring a decent internet connection to play them.
The arrival of Control Ultimate Edition – Cloud Version and Hitman 3 – Cloud Version was announced by Nintendo during a Nintendo Direct Mini presentation. Nintendo explains that those interested can try this version of Control for free by downloading a launcher, after which the game can be tried out for a limited time. However, a stable connection is necessary. If it is not stable, the service will be disconnected within a few minutes. Players can try out the quality through the launcher. If players want to continue playing the game after this test period, they will need to purchase a paid access pass.
Most likely, this method will also apply to Hitman 3 – Cloud Version, although the release date for this title is not yet known. Hitman 3 will be released on other platforms at least on January 20 next year. The cloud version of Control is currently available for download for the Switch. This Control Ultimate Edition contains the base game and all previously released expansions called The Foundation and AWE. Control Ultimate Edition – Cloud Version can in any case be played in both TV and handheld mode.
These two games will be available to Switch users via cloud streaming technology, eliminating the need to use the internal hardware of the Nintendo portable console to render the images. Game streaming capability was previously available in Japan, where Resident Evil 7, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, and Phantasy Star Online 2.0 already got dedicated cloud versions.
