Microsoft allows consumers who make free use of its Teams communication tool for 24 hours in a row video calling with up to 300 people. The measure applies to the coming months, so that families can call all day during the holidays.

The limit of video calls of up to 24 hours with 300 participants is part of a set of features to make Teams more attractive for private use, Microsoft says . For example, it is now possible to start group chats up to 250 people and invite people to video calls without having to have Teams. In addition, 49 people are simultaneously visible in the Gallery view or the Together mode of the service.

The limit of Teams is above that of other video calling apps, claims The Verge . Zoom has a limit of 40 minutes, although it is temporarily overridden. Cisco Webex offers a limit of 50 minutes, Google Meet 60 minutes.
