Console Versions of Classic BioWare RPGs Coming September and December
Game publisher Skybound has announced the release dates of the console versions of Baldur’s Gate, Neverwinter Nights, Planescape: Torment and Icewind Dale. Neverwinter Nights will be released on December 6 and the rest will be out on September 27.
The games are coming in the form of their enhanced editions to the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. According to the announcement, game maker Beamdog has also upgraded the games with support for high resolutions, controls optimized for gamepads, new content, improved multiplayer features, redesigned UIs, bug fixes, balance adjustments and more. The enhanced editions of the games were previously released for Windows, among others. These games appeared between 2012 and 2018.
There will also be physical editions of the games. These are sold in bundles: Baldur’s Gate I and II are boxed together and Placescape: Torment and Icewind Dale are combined. Neverwinter Nights, the one coming out a little over two months later, stands on its own. Each physical release will carry a price tag of $49.99. Skybound has set up a webpage with all the information about the games.
