The console version of Xcom 2 has been delayed by several weeks. 2K Games previously announced that the game would be released on September 9, but is now announcing that the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions will be available on September 27.

Developer Firaxis reports on Twitter that the team needs a few more weeks to make the game “as good as it gets.” Initially it was stated that the game would not come to consoles due to the procedurally generated levels, but the developers came back on that. Publisher 2K Games and developer Firaxis are working with The Workshop on port to consoles.

The PC version of Xcom 2 was released in February. The game takes place twenty years after Enemy Unknown and Enemy Within. The game is set in a post-apocalyptic world in which aliens have established a totalitarian regime that must of course be overcome.
