Console version of demolition derby game Wreckfest has been postponed until 2019 uit
The console version of Wreckfest has been delayed until 2019. The game, which came out for PC in June, should have been released on November 20. Publisher THQ Nordic says more time is needed to improve multiplayer mode and performance.
THQ Nordic has not announced a new date for the console version of Wreckfest. The game from developer Bugbear will be released for the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One, but that won’t happen again this year. The publisher apologizes and says it will compensate players with new vehicles.
Wreckfest was released on Steam on June 14, after the game had been available through Early Access on that platform since 2014. It is a so-called demolition derby game in which players compete against each other in cars in various game modes.
Finnish developer Bugbear Entertainment is also the creator of FlatOut 1 and 2 and FlatOut: Ultimate Carnage. Wreckfest was initially known as the Next Car Game. The game costs 45 euros on Steam and the console versions are available as a preorder in the Pricewatch from 47 euros.
