Console version Cities: Skylines 2 has been delayed until 2024, PC version in October
The console version of Cities: Skylines 2 won’t be released until next year. That is later than initially planned; the next-gen version would be released in a month. The PC version will be released as planned.
The game’s publisher, Paradox Interactive, and developer Colossal Order say on their forum that the release for consoles is not until the spring of 2024. The makers say they ‘need more time to achieve the quality goals we set for the console’. The developer wants to take the coming months to focus on ‘quality and performance on all platforms’.
Paradox Interactive has not yet announced a definitive release date. That will follow soon. The postponement only applies to the version for the Xbox Series
The PC version is still scheduled for October 24, Paradox says. The developer has adjusted the minimum system requirements. For the minimum performance on full HD, users need at least a Core i7-6700K or a Ryzen 5-2600X CPU and at least a GTX 970 or ‘similar AMD variant’ and 8GB of RAM. The recommended specifications are an i5-12600K or Ryzen 7 5800X, an RTX 3080 or similar AMD variant and 16GB of RAM.
