The Black Hat and Def Con security conferences will not take place in physical appearance this year. Instead, a digital variant is being organised. Both conferences thus follow the global trend of organizing digital conferences due to the corona virus.

Black Hat will not be able to continue in physical form this year, but will instead be held digitally, has been announced on the organization’s website. Work is currently underway on the program and organization to keep the event virtual, and more information about the exact design should be released soon.

Def Con, for its part, has said it does not believe it can host a safe conference due to the coronavirus, causing a virtual event to be held instead. Interested parties can register for the virtual program on the Def Con forum. Communication is maintained via a Discord channel.

It comes as no surprise that the two conferences, which focus on security and were both scheduled to take place in August, will not take place in physical form. In recent months, almost all companies and organizations have canceled their meetings due to the coronavirus outbreak.
