Concept shows possible design of Huawei Mate 10 – update
A concept created by a fan shows what the Huawei Mate 10 smartphone could look like. Earlier, the CEO of Huawei said that the device will have thin screen edges. The phone is rumored to be announced on October 16.
The images are from a Weibo user and were spotted by the Android Crunch website. The renders show that there are hardly any bezels on the side of the screen, and relatively small bezels on the top and bottom of the screen. Previously, the CEO of Huawei has already said that the Mate 10 would have a screen with very thin bezels; the design in the renders is in line with his statements.
The renders also show that the device has a dual camera on the back, with the brand name Leica in between both lenses. The device is rumored to have a Kirin 970-soc and a 6.1 “screen with a long 2:1 aspect ratio. The device will probably have 64GB of storage space, 6GB of ram, runs on Android 7.0 and will be equipped with a battery with a capacity of 4000 mAh.
A fingerprint scanner is not visible on the front; it may be on the back. There is also a USB-c port, but whether there is also a 3.5 mm connection is unclear, partly because the top of the device is not visible on the renders.
According to GSMArena, the device will probably be officially announced on October 16 in Munich, Germany, along with the smaller Huawei Mate 10 Lite. The Mate 10 should be the successor to the Huawei Mate 9, and is rumored to cost more than $ 1000.
Update 16:49: As noted in the comments, the renders are from a video of a concept created by a fan. That video has already appeared online. These are not renders that have been leaked, but a ‘vision’ of what the device could look like.
