Computex will not continue as a physical event in June
Hardware fair Computex, which was to take place in Taiwan from June 1 to 4, will not take place as a physical event. The organization has announced this. The reason is that the corona pandemic is not yet sufficiently under control.
As a result, a physical fair is not safely possible in June, says the organization. “It seems that we are not yet close to the end of the corona pandemic. The majority of stakeholders, such as exhibitors, visitors and media, cannot enter the fair due to border controls.” Taiwan is trying to control the coronavirus by letting as few people into the country as possible. Unlike last year, this now concerns cancellation of the fair and the organization does not mention an option later in the year.
A physical event was planned. For last year it was decided to first postpone Computex and then to scrap it completely, but in December the organization said it was aiming for a physical event in early June. Computex usually takes place in that month. Telecom fair MWC is still on the agenda for the end of June in Spain, despite cancellations from many well-known exhibitors.
