Company says it has a lender for fiberglass construction for a large part of Limburg
The company Eising Kempen claims to have found an investor to invest 300 to 350 million euros in the construction of fiber optic in Limburg. In particular, the outlying areas could receive fiber optic.
Eising Kempen focuses on connecting 370,000 households and companies in eighteen Limburg municipalities, writes De Limburger. The campaign for bundling demand in Bergen and Mook en Middelaar should start in January. Roermond, Venlo, Beesel and Roerdalen should follow in March. This is followed by campaigns in Maastricht, Sittard-Geleen, Heerlen, Kerkrade, Eijsden-Margraten, Vaals, Gulpen-Wittem, Simpelveld, Voerendaal, Onderbanken, Schinnen and Landgraaf.
As with many fiber optic initiatives, residents of municipalities receive information about the options, after which at least 35 percent of households must register before construction can start. Eising Kempen claims to have 250,000 homes and businesses in Limburg and North Brabant connected to fiber, but has not yet announced who the new investor is.
Last summer, questions arose about the registration percentages in the municipality of Heerhugowaard, where E-fiber wanted to install optical fiber. According to the company’s site, 23 percent of households in the region had signed up, but in reality it turned out to be 3.3 percent.
