A French startup comes with a camera with a Leica M mount where the photos taken cannot be viewed as usual on an LCD on the back. There is no such screen. The captured images can only be viewed on a connected smartphone.

The Pixii is a rangefinder camera with the viewfinder on the side. The camera does not have an electronic viewfinder, but has a regular optical viewfinder. Because the Pixii does not have an EVF, the pictures taken cannot be viewed through the viewfinder. Also missing is a slot for an SD card; variants are available with 8 or 32 GB of internal storage space. The connection to a smartphone is via Bluetooth 4.2 or WiFi, for which support is available.

The camera contains a cmos sensor with global electronic shutter, although it is not yet clear which sensor format it concerns. The Leica M-mount allows different lenses to be mounted on the Pixii. Focusing and setting the aperture can only be done manually and not automatically; the shutter speed can be set automatically.

The device is made of aluminum and has an OLED screen for viewing various settings. The Pixii can be charged via USB, weighs 460g and measures 138x79x33mm. Prices for both versions have not yet been announced.
