Coming new Darksiders game will be revealed in E3 calendar
The schedule for the E3 games show features a panel that “coincides with the unveiling of a brand new Darksiders game”. Although that is not an official announcement of the game, it is almost certain that the game is in the works and will be revealed.
The text mentioned by Eurogamer, among others, is on the page for E3 Coliseum. This is a series of panel discussions that are separate from the press conferences and apparently cannot be followed via a live stream. On Thursday, June 13 at 10:30 a.m., “Darksiders: Action Adventure Evolved” will be featured. Not only is the description about a new Darksiders game, but it also states that it “moves the franchise in a fresh, new direction”.
The Darksiders franchise has always featured the horsemen of the apocalypse as main characters. In the first games it was War, Death and Fury. The last of the riders would be Famine, but maybe developer Gunfire Games will move away from the riders concept given the naming of a new direction.
Darksiders I, II and III were released in 2010, 2012 and 2018 and are available for a wide variety of platforms. Although every new game in the series is generally less appreciated than its predecessor, publisher THQ Nordic is obviously not tired of the franchise.
The E3 press conferences will take place on June 9, 10 and 11, but it is not yet certain at which conference the announcement will take place. Presumably it will be Microsoft’s on June 9, as all other press conferences are from publishers themselves, THQ Nordic doesn’t present itself and the game is probably too violent for Nintendo’s stream.
