Combined streaming service HBO Max and Discovery + may be called Max

The new streaming service from media conglomerate Warner Bros. Discovery will probably be called Max. Next spring, the company wants to merge its streaming services HBO Max and Discovery + and continue under a new name

News channel CNBC writes based on internal sources that the lawyers of Warner Bros. Discovery investigate whether the name Max can be used. The name is not yet set and could change, the sources say. Internally, the new platform has been codenamed BEAM. It is not yet known when the final name of the new streaming service will be announced. There are also no prices known for the subscriptions yet.

In August, Warner Bros. Discovery announced that HBO Max will be replaced by a new platform, which will be a combination of that platform and Discovery +. The combined streaming service should be available in the US in the spring of 2023. At first, the company wanted to make the platform available in the US in the summer, but that has been pushed back to next spring, wrote CNBC last month. Other countries will follow after that.
