Colorful unveils passively cooled GTX 680

The Chinese company Colorful has managed to design an Nvidia GeForce GTX 680 that does not have fans, but is completely passively cooled. An additional heat sink with 140 cooling fins must be attached to the card.

It is the first time that a manufacturer has managed to passively cool the high-end GTX 680. The iGame GTX 680 passive does its job completely silently thanks to two large heat sinks, one of which covers the entire front of the card, while an additional block can be attached to the back. The two modules are attached to each other via six 8mm heatpipes.

The cooling modules themselves consist of seven heat pipes with a thickness of 6 mm and they each contain 140 cooling fins. According to Expreview, the total cooling surface of the 280 cooling fins covers more than 2 square meters. Even with overclocking, the card would run stable, but Colorful has not yet announced the clock speeds. The launch date and price are also unknown.
