Colorful shows motherboard with integrated Nvidia GTX 1070 GPU
Colorful and Chaintech have shown a motherboard on the Computex fair on which an Nvidia GP104-200 GPU is integrated. That is the GPU that Nvidia uses for its GTX 1070 video card. It appears to be an Intel B150 motherboard for compact gaming systems.
There are no PCIe slots on the motherboard, which was discovered by a TechPowerUp reader. Instead, a GPU is integrated on the pcb, along with gddr5 memory chips from Samsung. The markings on the GPU indicate that it is the same chip as the GPU of the Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070. The board has the code name ‘B150-GP104’, which seems to make it clear that it is a motherboard with Intel B150 chipset and 1151 socket for Skylake processors. There are two sodimm slots for memory.
Colorful also showed a motherboard with integrated GTX 980 GPU and according to the forum member, the manufacturer also has a version with GTX 960 GPU. The motherboards with integrated video card will probably not reach the consumer market. The boards are presumably used by manufacturers of complete systems to make small game computers. The size of the motherboards differs from standards such as m-itx, so manufacturers will have to build their own housing around the board.
The integrated Nvidia GTX 1070 on the motherboard shown may be based on an mxm. Rumor has it that Nvidia is bringing both the GeForce GTX 1080 and 1070 to laptops, with the same GPU as the desktop variants.
