Samsung’s Colombian website indicated this week that the upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event will take place on February 1. The South Korean manufacturer usually introduces its next generation of Galaxy S smartphones at such events.

The reference of the Samsung event has been noticed by smartphone leaker Ice Universe. It claims that the date that was visible, February 1, 2023, is also the day on which Samsung will introduce its Galaxy S23 smartphones. The South Korean company has not yet officially confirmed the date, but has already removed the event reference their Colombian website. This web page is currently only available via The Internet Archive.

On the archived web page, there is marketing material showing three camera lenses. There is no camera island around the camera lenses, which may refer to a changed camera design on the Galaxy S23 and S23+. The same conclusion can be drawn from previously leaked promo images and renders.

According to rumors, the upcoming Galaxy S23 would have a 6.1” screen, in combination with a 3900mAh battery. The S23+ would have a 6.6-inch panel with a 4700mAh battery. The regular S23 could fast charge with 25W, the S23+ could fast charge with 45W. The smartphones are said to feature a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor. The devices also seem to correspond visually with the current Galaxy S22 devices, apart from the camera arrangement and the changed dimensions. Among other things, the USB-C port, punchhole camera in the screen, speakers and the volume and on/off buttons are all in the same place.

Update, 6.30 pm: The breadtext initially stated that both the S23 and the S23+ could fast charge with 25W. This has been adjusted. Thanks to donleo123.
