CodeSandbox ide of Twente students receives an investment of 10.8 million euros

Swedish investor EQT Ventures and other investors are investing 10.8 million euros in CodeSandbox, an online integrated development environment created by two students from the University of Twente.

CodeSandbox will use the investment of 10.8 million euros to expand its development platform and the company is hiring new people for this. CodeSandbox has been in existence for three years and was founded by two students from the University of Twente, who already received an investment of 2.4 million euros last year.

CodeSandbox is an online ide aimed at fast web development. Above all, the environment should make it easier for different development, design, test and product teams to work together remotely on web projects. Use of the basic version is free, for extended functionality there is a subscription for 12 dollars per month.

According to CodeSandbox, two million developers use the service every month, including organizations like Shopify, Atlassian and Stripe. More than ten million ‘sandboxes’ have now been created for web projects.
