Codemasters announces a reboot of the Grid racing series. The fourth game in the series includes vehicles such as GT and Muscle cars and various race types including track, street racing and ‘Hot Laps’. The game will be released on September 13.

In the announcement of the reboot, Codemasters indicates that in Grid, players can race on multiple tracks in various well-known cities across four continents. There are different types of cars to drive including Muscle, GT, Super Modified and Stock cars. Players progress through the game, including their own performance during a race, thanks to the achievements of teammates and through player cards.

The game realistically depicts damage to the car according to the publisher and this will also affect how a car reacts when driving. If a player seeks out an opponent too often and deals too much damage, this opponent will develop into an arch rival and want to take revenge.

Codemasters has started a partnership with former Formula 1 driver Fernando Alonso. The former World Champion will race against the player at certain times and events, but he has also been recruited as a development advisor due to his experience.

The game will be released on September 13 for PC, PS4 and Xbox One. Earlier there was also a Grid announcement, but then it was Grid: Autosport for the Nintendo Switch.
