Codemasters releases F1 2020 on July 10
Codemasters will release a new official Formula 1 game on July 10. F1 2020 will get a new My Team mode, where players will participate in the F1 championship as the 11th team on the grid. Also, F1 2020 includes split screen support for local multiplayer.
In the new My Team mode, players must create their own driver, choose a sponsor and engine supplier, and hire a teammate. This fictional team then takes part in the F1 championship as the eleventh team. During the season, players have to develop the team by building facilities. Players are both manager and driver in this mode.
The traditional Career mode is also back in F1 2020. Codemasters promises more options for adjusting the length of the seasons. It is possible to complete the original 2020 race calendar with 22 races, including the new circuits in Hanoi and Zandvoort, but shorter seasons with ten or sixteen races can also be chosen. It is also possible to participate in the F2 championship again.
Codemasters brings back split screen support. This option allows two players to race against each other locally. The studio is adding a new steering aid that should make the game accessible to all players, regardless of their racing skills.
Codemasters also comes with a Deluxe Schumacher Edition of F1 2020. This version has the extra F1 cars in which Michael Schumacher drove in 1991, 1994, 1995 and 2000. These are the Jordan 191, Benetton B194 and B195 and the Ferrari F1 -2000. The PC version is coming to Steam and Google Stadia on July 10. The game will also be released for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
