Codemasters is going to release Linux games
Codemasters has announced that it plans to release games for the Linux platform. The only question that remains is when that should happen and which games Codemaster will release for the open source operating system.
In response to a question from a Steam gamer, Ben Warwickshire, community manager at Codemasters, said the game developer is seriously considering the Linux platform. It would therefore not be a question of whether Codemasters will embrace Linux, but when, reports OMGUbuntu.
It is likely that major titles will not be playable on the open source operating system immediately at launch, but will only be available on Linux at a later stage, for example on SteamOS. It is also not entirely clear which titles would be the first to qualify for a port to Linux. The game developer is best known for its racing games on PC, consoles and a number of handhelds.
