Code in Rockstar Games Launcher hints at remasters of GTA III, VC and SA
Several users say they found clues in the Rockstar Games Launcher code for Definitive Editions of Grand Theft Auto III, Vice City and San Andreas. There have been rumors for some time that Rockstar is working on such remasters.
Twitter user @videotech_ says found clues in the code of the Rockstar Games Launcher pointing to the arrival of a remastered Grand Theft Auto trilogy. According to this user, space has been made since the beginning of September for the arrival of new versions of GTA III, Vice City and San Andreas.
In addition, achievements and logos from the three remasters were also found in the back-end of the Launcher. The achievements of the unannounced trilogy were posted by GTA Forums user alloc8or. Most of the achievements would be the same as previous releases of the games, but a few have been modified. Not long after, user Razed reported finding the games logos in the Launcher. According to these logos, each game will be subtitled ‘The Definitive Edition’.
It was previously discovered that the trilogy has been given an age rating in Korea. Kotaku also reports to have heard from reliable sources that the games bundle is indeed coming. According to that site, the game should be released for the PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S/X, PC, Google Stadia, Switch and for smartphones.
Rockstar has not yet released anything about the existence of this trilogy, but the parent company Take-Two indicated a while ago that it was working on ‘three new versions of previously released titles’. The company is also working on an improved version of GTA V, which should be released in 2022 for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S and X.
