Code in Nintendo Switch update hints at Bluetooth earphone support
Dataminers have found tweaks in the code of the Nintendo Switch 12.0.0 update that indicate the arrival of bluetooth audio support. Currently, connecting bluetooth earphones to the console is not possible without using adapters.
Even after installing the recent 12.0.0 update, it is not possible to use bluetooth earphones with a Nintendo Switch console. However, the changed code points to the arrival of this support. Twitter user OatmealDome was one of the first users to notice the changes in the update.
It concerns adjustments within the Bluetooth Driver services. It now contains references to being able to start and stop audio events and connections. OatmealDome has also found references to a new dock and 4k support for the alleged new Switch.
The 12.0.0 update became available for Nintendo Switch on Monday, April 5. According to Nintendo itself, the update only fixes a backup function that could be disrupted during backup.
