Code from macOS 11 beta contains reference to AMD Navi 22 and Navi 31 GPUs
References to several new AMD GPUs were found in the code of the macOS 11 Big Sur beta. These include Navi 22, Navi 31 and Radeon Instinct MI100 and MI200 GPUs. Also mentioned are some alleged desktop APUs from AMD.
According to HardwareLeaks, Twitter user’s website _rogameApple has added support for several new AMD Navi GPUs to the Big Sur developer beta, among other things. This includes five Navi 22 entries and a Navi 23 ID. Navi 21 is also mentioned. These are most likely GPUs based on the RDNA2 architecture, according to previous rumors. Also, the Big Sur beta includes multiple references for Navi 31 GPUs. Presumably this concerns GPUs based on RDNA3. It could possibly be the first reference to such GPUs.

In addition, the macOS 11 beta contains references to Radeon Instinct MI100 and MI200 GPUs. AMD has previously confirmed that the MI100 should be released in the second half of 2020, Hardware.info writes. This gpu will use the cDNA architecture. Cezanne and Van Gogh chips from AMD are also mentioned. According to previous rumors, these will most likely be desktop APUs with integrated GPUs.
Apple has never released Mac PCs with AMD processors before. It also seems unlikely that this will happen, now that the company has confirmed the switch to its own chips. However, Apple says it will release Mac computers with Intel chips in the future, before the transition to ARM is completed in about two years. Apple already uses AMD GPUs in its current Mac computers.
