CoD: Infinite Warfare Gets 20% Off W10 Store Due To Player Shortage

The multiplayer of the Windows 10 Store version of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare is almost extinct according to users. Probably in response to this, the prices of all editions of this version of the game have already been reduced by 20 percent just two days after its release.

The Windows 10 Store shows that the cheapest edition of the game is discounted from 59.99 to 47.99 euros. The most expensive edition goes from 99.99 to 79.99 euros. The decision comes shortly after the news that owners of the Windows 10 Store version of the game will not be able to compete in multiplayer against owners of other versions of the game, such as those on Steam. As a result, multiplayer has died out in this version of the game. Many users therefore proceed to request their money back, which Microsoft does not make a problem of.

Notably, the curtailment of the Windows 10 Store version of the game is not due to a technical limitation of the Universal Windows Platform. It has been Activision’s decision to keep this version’s multiplayer environment separate from the rest, according to Microsoft. Why the publisher does that is unknown. Incidentally, players of this edition will also not be able to compete against players of the Xbox One version, although that is technically possible as well.

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare is out Friday for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. A remaster of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare comes with all special editions of the game. The Windows Store version of that remaster can’t be played online with other platforms either.
