Clubhouse begins limited beta test for Android app
Clubhouse has started beta testing for an Android app. It is currently being tested by a number of users, although there is currently no clarity about a release date or even about a public beta.
Much information about the beta is not yet known. Clubhouse writes in the release notes for beta testers of the app that it has started a tentative first test for Android. The app is “not live yet,” but a “rough beta” has been released for a handful of testers. The company expects to welcome more Android users in the coming weeks, but it is not clear whether these are beta testers or a final version.
Clubhouse seemed to be an important new social platform for a long time, but the lack of an Android app may now be hindering the service. Several competitors are now working on similar services for making group calls via audio. Twitter already has such a service that is also available on Android. Facebook is also working on a clone of Clubhouse.
