Chromecast Audio gains support for multi-room streaming
Google has released an update for its Chromecast Audio media player. The update makes it possible to send the same stream to different Chromecast Audio players within the same network. There is also support for 96KHz/24-bit lossless audio.
Google writes this on its Chrome blog. With the multi-room option, in addition to streaming the same stream to all Chromecast Audio dongles, it is also possible to divide several of the devices into separate groups. The update also ensures that users who offer files in a lossless format can also be played that way. In this case up to a maximum of 96KHz/24-bit.
The Chromecast Audio has been available since the end of September and consists of a round device with a 3.5 mm connection to connect to a speaker or an amplifier. The player supports various streaming services, such as Spotify, Pandora and Google Play Music. The app is version number 1.13.13 and was released on December 9.
