The Chinese smartphone manufacturer Maze says it will release a 6 “phone that has a thin screen edge on the sides and top. The edges are larger than the manufacturer makes it appear. The device is offered in presale for $180.

According to the specifications, the Maze Alpha uses a 6″ LCD with a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels. The device is 159.8 mm high, 82.5 mm wide and 8.1 mm thick. edge of 3.75mm next to the screen, which is comparable to devices such as the HTC U11 and LG G6.

In some images from the manufacturer it seems that the screen bezel is smaller. Maze also speaks in his specifications about a screen-to-body ratio of 83 percent, while with the specified specifications the calculation comes out at about 75 percent. It is not the first time that a manufacturer claims that the screen is larger than it actually is. Similarly, the Xiaomi Mi Mix has a lower relative screen size than what the brand itself states. That’s because Xiami counts the black border next to the screen as the screen area. Presumably Maze does the same.

No photos of the Maze Alpha have appeared yet, only the manufacturer’s renders are online. The renders probably give a distorted picture of reality, something that is more common with Chinese phone manufacturers.

The Maze Alpha contains a Helio P25-soc from MediaTek, an octacore that runs at 2.5GHz. There will be versions with 4GB and 6GB ram, which have 64GB and 128GB storage space respectively. On the front is a five-megapixel camera, on the back are two cameras with resolutions of thirteen and five megapixels. The battery has a capacity of 4000mAh and supports fast charging via USB-C. According to the manufacturer, the device runs on stock Android 7.0.

Pre-orders can be placed between now and the end of June for $180. Converted with VAT, that is about 195 euros. After that, the price goes up to 220 dollars, converted about 238 euros.
