Chinese government agencies are allowed to buy Apple products. That is what the Chinese government says to Reuters news agency. According to China, reports that government organizations are not allowed to buy Apple products were based on a misunderstanding.
On Wednesday, Bloomberg news agency wrote on the basis of anonymous sources that China was no longer allowed to purchase Macbooks and iPads because of ‘state security’. However, that was a misunderstanding, the Chinese government told Reuters news agency.
According to previous reports, Apple was no longer on a list of approved energy-efficient products, but according to the Chinese government, Apple has never been on that list and products that are not on the list can indeed be purchased.
However, Apple products were briefly not present on a government website where officials can buy office supplies.
