Cherry equips classic G80-3000 keyboard with MX Silent switches

Cherry has announced that it is releasing a version of its G80-3000 keyboard that features its new MX Silent switches. The Cherry MX Board Silent has a classic look and is available in black and white.

The keyboard will have access to both the red and black silent switches, which have been available for all keyboard manufacturers since last month. Previously, they were only available in a specific Corsair keyboard.

The Cherry MX Board Silent is based on the G80-3000. That keyboard has been in production since 1988 and has seen only minor changes since then, such as the addition of the Windows key and a different color pattern.

Cherry gives the keyboard a suggested retail price of 149 dollars, which, converted and including VAT, is about 170 euros. Only a version with an international EU layout will be available.
