The cheapest Haswell E processor from Intel will cost 389 dollars, converted almost 300 euros. This is apparent from a slide that Videocardz has put online. This makes the CPU $50 more expensive than the current-generation Core i7 4790.

The model that will cost $389 is the Core i7 5820K, details of which came online earlier. The Haswell E processors succeed Ivy Bridge E models as high-end processors for desktop systems. According to Videocardz, Intel plans to release it on August 29.

The Haswell E processors support ddr4, among other things, allowing users to choose a processor that supports the new type of memory for a relatively low price difference. The 5820K is reportedly a hexacore with 15MB L3 cache. The cheapest model has 28 pci-e lanes, while the other two models have 40 lanes. The regular Haswell processors also have 16 PCI-e lanes.

The more expensive Haswell E processors are the 5930K and 5960X, which cost around 440 euros and 750 euros respectively. The price of 999 dollars for the most expensive model has been fixed for years, so it is no surprise.
