Cheaper Netflix subscription gets ads from Microsoft

The cheaper Netflix plan gets ads from Microsoft. Both companies have announced this. They are not yet saying anything about when the subscription will be available. The deal is for the global market.

There are no details about the collaboration. Netflix says that Microsoft has the proven technology to deliver advertisements for the subscription. Microsoft says continue to protect the data of Netflix subscribers, but how exactly that will happen is unknown.

All ads within the cheaper Netflix plan come from the Microsoft platform. Microsoft is also reportedly working on a way to show in-game ads for free-to-play games on Xbox consoles.

Netflix said earlier this year that it wants to start selling a subscription with ads. More streaming services are doing or planning to do that. It allows them to charge lower prices, which in turn leads to more customers. This is necessary because the growth in the number of subscribers is stalling.
